What a top day. I was losing hope reading the weather sites this morning, but Basher's post seemed confident, so I took the risk and headed to Cooden to find Nick brewing tea in his new van (v. nice btw). Krafty was rigging a 6.4 and his 115 Rocket, so I went 6.5 and my Syncro. It didn't look windy, but there was the odd nice wave and a couple of guys riding them well. Got out and nearly got blown off the water - which was a big suprise. Ran to rig my 5.7 and the first couple of runs on that were quite hairy so I started thinking a 5m would have been better. Flattened the sail off to the max and then enjoyed a few hours of bump and jump in the sun. Didn't have my wave board with me, so happy that it didn't pick up too much. Last half hour was just me and a kiter. Came in at about 3.15 - would have stayed longer, but Krafty was looking bored and the shorebreak was getting bigger as high tide approached. We had it so good for so long and then these last few weeks have been so crap that I forgot the buzz you get from a good day's sailing.
